ADVANCE - Dallas

Mission

To unlock America’s potential by strengthening families in at-risk communities through effective parent education and support programs.

Project

The objective of the AVANCE-Dallas project is to completely revamp our website to more effectively communicate about our mission and work to the larger community. Our need for assistance in website development comes because our current website is outdated both in its content and its look. Websites are increasingly crucial to communicating to friends, potential supporters (foundations, corporate donors, and individuals), and volunteers what we do here at AVANCE-Dallas. We envision our website becoming a tool that we and our supporters use to connect people to AVANCE-Dallas so they champion our mission. The fourfold purpose from our “Internet Presence Plan” gives a taste of our vision for the website:

(1) To provide AVANCE-Dallas organizational information to current and new donors
(2) To increase our Internet donor base through a three-year strategy
(3) To generate new funding for the AVANCE-Dallas program
(4) To cultivate a community of people who take ownership of the AVANCE-Dallas mission

AVANCE-Dallas is a respected nonprofit organization that advances low-income Hispanic families in Dallas by teaching parents how to partner with their children in education beginning at birth and by preparing young children age three and under to start school on target for success—an early intervention method proven to make a lasting change in families. While we have effectively established a support base to steadily expand our organization to more sites in the past few years, our Web presence is not congruent with the quality of our educational work in the Dallas community. We aim to redevelop our site in a way that helps us pursue our mission “to unlock America’s potential by strengthening families in at-risk communities through effective parent education and support programs” and helps us realize our vision of “one million parents reading to their children on a daily basis.”
